Candy & John

John and Candy met through friends in “The Grille” at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania  in 1964.  “The Grille” was a popular gathering place on campus where you could get a Coke, hamburger, meet with friends, talk, and dance on weekends.  It was probably love at first sight except they didn’t know it.

After college life took them separate ways…….until Candy came home from work one day to find a letter addressed from Fort Jackson, South Carolina.  It was from John!  In the letter, John asked Candy to write him….Well she did.

So, here we are 45 years later…..and to this day, John always claims Candy chased him – but Candy still has the letter!

Galina & Anatoly

Galina and Anatoly first met in 1968 at The Tomsk State University dance. Anatoly promised Galina to get her a ticket to Eduard Khil’s  (better known now as Mr.Trololol) 

After promising he promptly disappeared from the dance, but Galina’s friends insisted that she finds him on campus and gets the ticket.  When they found him – Anatoly would not give her a ticket unless she went with him. After the concert Anatoly continued inviting Galina to movies, concerts, dances and weddings since he was in charge of all social events at the university and had access to all and Galina’s friend’s continued insisting that she goes out with him until she finally gave in to his charms.

Married: December 19th 1969 in Siberia, Russia
